School District plans review of base schools

The Anchorage School District has set up a task force to review attendance at schools at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. School District officials say the task force will look at how balanced enrollment will be at three elementary schools because of new housing construction.

The task force will hold upcoming meetings at each of the schools, which are Ursa Major, Mount Spurr and Ursa Minor elementary schools.

Officials say members of the task force are district representatives, including affected school principals.

Besides the meetings, public comments also will be accepted.
