Each of the community meetings is limited to 100 participants, and the city would like interested people to register at muni.org/educationsummit.
The sessions are a continuation of the Mayor's Education Summit that began in November, with 100 invited participants who listened to experts and developed some proposed education reforms.
Upcoming community meetings are three hours long each.
Check-in time for five of the six meetings is 5:15 p.m. The exception is one at the Spenard Recreation Center Saturday, Feb. 11, for which check-in begins at 9:30 a.m.
The other meetings are at Bayshore Club House Wednesday, Feb. 8; Eagle River Lions Club Thursday, Feb. 9; Alaska Native Heritage Center Wednesday, Feb. 15; Campbell Creek Science Center Thursday, Feb. 16, and Anchorage Senior Activity Center Wednesday, Feb. 22.
As follow-up to these meetings, the 100 participants chosen for the November discussions will reconvene in June to make final reform proposals.
