UAA's Doucette shines as UAA takes second in gymnastics

Sophomore Melissa Doucette delivered UAA's best all-around performance of the season Sunday to lead the Seawolves to second place in a gymnastics tri-meet in Towson, Md. Doucette posted a career-high score in the all-around for the fourth straight meet, placing third with 38.4 points.

She enjoyed career highs in floor exercise (9.75) and uneven parallel bars (9.65) and matched her career best in the balance beam (9.375).

Towson's Kacy Catanzaro won the all-around with 38.9 points, winning every event except the floor to lead the host school to the team victory with 193 points.

UAA was second with 187.875 and William & Mary College was third with 184.9.

UAA freshman Sariaye Jensen scored 9.75 to finish second in bars.
