Dimond 70, Bartlett 59 in boys basketball

In a battle of unbeaten boys basketball teams, Ryden Hines came up big in Dimond's 70-59 win Tuesday, recording 19 points and 11 rebounds as the visiting Lynx handed defending state champion Bartlett its first Cook Inlet Conference loss this season. Dimond (5-0 CIC) took over first place and Bartlett (4-1 CIC) fell into second. The Lynx, who also got 18 points and six assists from Colter Lasher, trailed by two at halftime, but outscored Bartlett 23-14 in the third quarter.

Luke Adams knocked in 16 points for Dimond and Damon Cikanek put up 11.

Steve Maduro's 16 points led Bartlett, with Trenton Anthony adding 12 and Jal Rial hitting for 11.

West 66, Eagle River 58

Four players scored in double figures for West on Tuesday, when the Eagles slipped past visiting Eagle River 66-58 in a CIC boys basketball game.

Kendal Brown led he Eagles, pumping in 13 points to go with 13 rebounds. Marcus Ailey scored 11 points, with Asheme Cole and Lamarr Brown each hitting for 10.

Eagle River's Chris Parker led all scorers with 21.

South 61, Chugiak 44

The South boys basketball team, led by 18 points from Louis Page, used a strong defensive effort Tuesday to nail down a 61-44 CIC win over visiting Chugiak.

Louis Page led the Wolverines with 18 points and James Lorec added 15.

Chugiak's Skyler Fullmer pumped in a game-high 19 points, and Marquis Spearman chipped in 14 for the Mustangs.

Service 62, East 31

Marques Robinson's 16 points led the charge for Service's 62-31 CIC boys basketball win over visiting East on Tuesday.

Robinson scored 10 in the first half as the Cougars raced to a 29-12 halftime lead. Amu Aukusitino (12 points) was the only other Cougar to reach double figures.

ACS 71, Grace 49

Calvin Hoffman and Gus Simmers accounted for nearly all of Anchorage Christian's points Tuesday, when both cracked the 30-point mark in a 71-49 win over visiting Grace in a boys basketball game.

Simmers' 33 points led all scorers and Hoffman drilled four of his eight treys in the fourth quarter to finish with 30 points. The game was tied 13-13 after one quarter, but ACS went on a 22-12 run in the second period and a 20-11 run in the third.

Bradley Boergen led Grace with 14 points by Bradley Boergen and Luke Offord scored 10 points.
