Dimond 8, Service 4 in girls hockey

Tyler Thompson and Aaron Dunlap scored back-to-back goals in each of the first two periods Thursday to power Dimond past Service 8-4 in a Cook Inlet Conference hockey game at Ben Boeke.

Their second-period goals, which came in a 35-second span, came while the rivals were skating 4 on 4.

Dimond-West wins

Miryea Herman scored a goal and helped set up two others Thursday at Ben Boeke Ice Arena to spark Dimond-West's 6-3 Cook Inlet Conference girls hockey victory over Service-East.

Herman scored the only goal in the first period and assisted on two of her team's four second-period goals. Annie Rush added a third-period goal and a second-period assist for the winners.
