Fossman, a 6-foot guard from Haines, had a near-perfect shooting night en route to a career-high 26 points. He hit nine of his 10 shots, including six of seven attempts from 3-point range, and both of his free throws.
Twice in the first half, Fossman drained back-to-back 3-pointers to silence the Crusaders, the first time to erase a Northwest Nazarene lead and the second time to put the Seawolves in command for good.
The game was a matchup between a team that couldn't miss -- the Seawolves hit 58.7 percent of their shots, including 70 percent in the second half -- and a team that couldn't rebound -- the Crusaders managed to bring down only 16 rebounds.
Fossman's six rebounds led UAA's 32- rebound effort. His biggest was a put-back of Travis Thompson's 3-point miss at the came at the end of the first half, a buzzer-beater that gave Fossman 16 points and UAA a 40-26 halftime lead.
Steve White, who hit 9 of 10 free throws, also enjoyed a career scoring night for the Seawolves with 16 points to go along with five assists and two steals. Abebe Demissie came off the bench to add 11 points on 4 of 7 shooting that included 3 of 6 accuracy from 3-point range.
Combined with Western Oregon's loss at Montana State-Billings on Thursday, the win gives the 25th-ranked Seawolves (14-4 overall, 8-2 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) sole possession of second place in the GNAC, half a game behind Western Washington. All three wins in their current streak have come on the road.
Northwest Nazarene (9-9, 3-7) remained winless in league home games.
The Crusaders grabbed an early 10-4 lead but Fossman's consecutive 3-pointers wiped out the lead. Lonnie Ridgeway, playing for the first time since a Dec. 3 injury to his hand, put UAA on top with a short jumper.
A few minutes later, Fossman again sank back-to-back 3-pointers to stretch UAA's lead to a healthy 30-17. The Seawolves led by nine or more the rest of the way.
Jonathan Hawkins dropped in 14 points to lead the Crusaders, who held preseason All-America center Taylor Rohde to eight points and four rebounds.
UAA's four-game road swing ends Saturday with a game against Central Washington, with tipoff set for 6 p.m.
