Chugiak led by as many as 10 points before settling for a 23-18 lead after the first quarter, but East charged back behind strong rebounding. Taria Page ripped down 12 boards to help the Thunderbirds to a lopsided 40-17 rebounding advantage.
Poleo led all scorers with 29 points. Tina Dunbar pumped in 18 points and Page added 15 for East.
Chugiak was led by Alistie Augilar's 23 points.
Bartlett 59, Eagle River 51
Kelly Rypkema knocked down six 3-pointers in the first half en route to a game-high 29 points that lifted Bartlett past Eagle River 59-51 in a Cook Inlet Conference game Friday at Bartlett.
Rypkema finished with seven treys, and she needed all of them to outscore Eagle River's Dana Panfil, who hit four 3-pointers on her way to 28 points.
The Golden Bears prevailed thanks to a big first quarter. Rypkema poured in 11 points, nine of them on 3-pointers, to give Bartlett an early 21-10 lead.
Cheyenne Mann added 12 points for the Golden Bears and Lauren Frost tossed in 13 for Eagle River. Frast hit 11 of 13 free throws to give Eagle River a 17-6 scoring advantage from the foul line.
Dimond 73, Service 28
Sierra Afoa posted a double-double and four others scored in double figures Friday in Dimond's 73-28 romp over Service in a CIC game at Dimond.
Afoa finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Lynx. Tara Thompson led the way with 16, Aminata Cole added 11 and Ione Fischer and Rohyn Huff each chipped in 10.
Samantha Zumbro gave Service a boost with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lynx led 28-15 at the half and buried Service with a 28-8 third quarter.
Grace 44, Nikiski 27
Heidi Eckmann tossed in 12 points to lead a balanced scoring attack that carried Grace Christian past Nikiski 44-27 Friday in Anchorage. She scored five points in a 16-5 third quarter that put the Grizzlies in control.
Wasilla 63, Soldotna 52
Powered by Kyla Dinkel's 20 points and 13 rebounds, the Wasilla girls tripped Soldotna 63-52 Friday night in Wasilla.
Alyssa Hutchins added 17 points for the Warriors, who led 31-16 at the half. Kaillee Skjold posted a double-double for the Stars with 14 points and 17 rebounds.
West 51, South 43
Cece Cockerham netted 15 points to spark West's 51-43 CIC victory over South on Friday.
Sierra Mains matched Cockerham with 15 points for South, which also got 14 rebounds from Michelle Cole.
Kenai 41, Houston 27
Kenai dominated the second half Friday to rally past Houston 41-27 in a girls game in Houston.
Down 17-14 at the half, the Kardinals outscored Houston 12-3 in the third quarter to surge ahead and spoil a 19-point, 15-rebound performance by Houston's Savanna James.
