Dimond-West 2, Chugiak-Eagle River 1 in girls hockey

Annie Rush's third-period goal was a game-winner Saturday, giving the Dimond-West girls hockey team a 2-1 win over Chugiak-Eagle River in a Cook Inlet Conference game at the McDonald Center. Rush's goal came with 9:40 remaining in the game, less than two minutes after Chugiak-Eagle River's Holly Linder tied the game at 1-1.

The game's first goal came from Dimond-West's Allye Brodie early in the first period. Dimond-West goalie Sadie Tailborg stopped 15 shots in the win and Chugiak-Eagle River goalie Nicol Mrugala stopped 30.

South-Bartlett 6, Service-East 0

Cayla Wiita and Georgianna Hoss each scored twice Saturday, helping the South-Bartlett girls hockey team roll to a 6-0 Cook Inlet Conference win over Service-East at Ben Boeke Arena.

Morgan Newhouse and Aimee Rupp scored the first two goals for South, with Wiita and Hoss adding theirs later. South-Bartlett goalie Maddi Davis stopped nine shots in the shutout, and Service-East goalie Jenna Gerrety stopped 11.
