Patrick Davids succumbed to his injuries Wednesday night, troopers said. He turned 43 just four days after he was struck.

An Anchorage Share-A-Ride van hit and dragged Patrick, who was walking across the icy highway in blizzard conditions, troopers said. He was listed in critical condition and died 10 days later.

Troopers said after the collision that the driver of the van was not at fault.

Court documents showed Davids was charged with first- and second-degree sexual abuse of a minor two days before the van hit him.
