JUNEAU -- Kim Kiefer, Juneau's deputy city manager, will be promoted to city manager.
The Juneau Empire reported the City and Borough Assembly voted Monday night to name Kiefer as the replacement for Rod Swope, who plans to retire March 31.
The job drew 25 applicants. Kiefer and Capt. Norman "Buddy" Custard of the U.S. Coast Guard were the two finalists.
