They will, they will rock you

The Anchorage Symphony will join forces with the rock band Jeans N' Classics and a 50-voice chorus to perform the classic hits of Queen, including "We Are the Champions," "Somebody to Love," "Bohemian Rhapsody" and other memorable musical moments from the 1970s and '80s. Tickets for "One Vision: The Music of Queen" are $33-$54 at centertix.net. Performances are at 8 p.m. tonight and Saturday at Atwood Concert Hall.

Viking with vision

Oslo architect Reiulf Ramstad has accumulated shelves of architectural awards for his iconic design in Norway and other northern locations with work that is as beautiful as it is practical and brilliantly suited to cold climates. He will be the guest of the Alaska Design Forum, speaking at 7 p.m. Monday at the Anchorage Museum. Admission is $10, $5 for students. He will also speak at The Blue Loon in Fairbanks at 6 p.m. Tuesday and in Juneau at The Silverbow on Wednesday.

Alaskan classic

Perseverance Theatre's stage adaptation of Lynn Schooler's "The Blue Bear" is being presented at the Sydney Laurence Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday through Feb. 18, with 4 p.m. matinees on Sunday, Feb. 12, and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18 in Sydney Laurence Theatre. It's not about a depressed bruin, but the author's friendship with famed photographer Michio Hoshino and features several of Hoshino's iconic photos.
