Cheseto says, even though he no longer has his legs, he is grateful for them.
"I'm really grateful, because they got me out of the woods to safety, and that was maybe (them saying) 'OK, we are done with helping you, so you can proceed from here.'"
Now, Cheseto has new prosthetic legs. He is walking again, just weeks after receiving them. He hopes that later this year, he will be able to start running again.
He's taking steps toward recovery. He says he still has a long way to go; but emotionally, he's much stronger now. So much stronger, that he's willing to tell his story to help people understand.
