Terri Babers says she can no longer carry the financial burden of operating the home.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says Babers has found a buyer for the house who wants to use it as a family home. The sale is expected to go through in the next few weeks.
The home that opened nearly two years ago was intended to be a part of the Oxford House network of sober-living homes, which operate on a self-run, self-supported model. But problems arose almost immediately and Babers ended up drawing on her own savings to pay the mortgage.
