Honduras prison fire

Firefighters stand outside of the prison in Comayagua, Honduras, a town 90 miles (140 kilometers) north of the Central American country's capital, Tegucigalpa, early Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012. Radio reports from Comayagua said dozens of prisoners were burned beyond recognition and the prison was destroyed by the flames. The fire claimed the lives of at least 272 inmates.

A fire in a prison broke out in Comayagua, Honduras, 90 miles (140 kilometers) north of the capital, Tegucigalpa, early Wednesday Feb. 15, 2012. At least 300 inmates were killed and 21 are injured, according to authorities.
