FAIRBANKS -- An Anchorage man is the new vice chairman of the University of Alaska Board of Regents.

The board this week elected Carl Marrs to replace Bob Martin of Juneau.

Martin cited health reasons for his resignation.

Gov. Sean Parnell will appoint a new regent to complete Martin's term. A release from the university says Martin was in the last year of an eight-year term.
