Service 59, East 57 in girls basketball

Service staged a big second-half rally Saturday to edge East 59-57 in a Cook Inlet Conference girls basketball game at East. The Cougars trailed 22-14 at the half but came out hot in the second half to pile up 35 points.

Samantha Zumbro pumped in a game-high 21 points, Sophia Tidler netted 17 and Caitlin Upton 14 to lead Service.

Taria Page was one rebound shy of a double-double for East, racking up 16 points and nine rebounds. Wenda Poleo chipped in 13 and Fiti Manu 10 for the T-Birds.

West 79, Eagle River 44

Chantel Bookert's 26 points and double-doubles from Pauline Tufi and Anastasia Lavern-Tosi fueled West's 79-44 CIC win over host Eagle River on Saturday.

Tufi contributed 12 points and 18 rebounds and Lavern-Tosi tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Freshman Lauren Frost poured in 20 points for Eagle River.

Chugiak 34, South 26

Madison McAleavey scored eight points and Jessica Tramp added seven Saturday to help power Chugiak past South 34-26 in a CIC game at Chugiak.

Dimond 84, Bartlett 25

Aminata Cole delivered 18 points and 15 rebounds Saturday to lead Dimond to an 84-25 CIC win over Bartlett at Dimond.

Cole sank 9 of 11 free throws and was joined in double figures by four other Lynx -- Alexis Rogers (14), Sierra Afoa (14), Tara Thompson (13) and Iona Fischer (11).

Olivia Calloway's 12 points led Bartlett.

Wasilla 73, Skyview 11

Wasilla scored more than 70 points for the second straight day in a girls basketball game Saturday and notched their second straight blowout victory, a 73-11 win over host Skyview.

As she did the day before, Alyssa Hutchins led all scorers with 24 points. Kyla Dinkle pitched in 17 points for the Warriors, and Angel Garcia's seven rebounds led the team. Led by Alysha Devine's seven steals, the Warriors defense came up with 24 thefts.

ACS 64, CIA 37

Sarah Geagel scored 13 of her team-high 16 points in the first half Saturday, putting the Anchorage Christian girls basketball team on the road to a 64-37 win over visiting Cook Inlet Academy.

Dallas Dickerson also did most of her damage in the first half, hitting for eight of her 11 points, as the Lions built a 32-25 halftime lead.

Nicole Moffis led CIA with a game-high 23 points.

Seward 40, Grace 35

Seward held off Grace Christian 40-35 Saturday in a girls basketball game in Anchorage.

Meg Berry led Seward with 13 points and Heidi Eckmann topped the Grizzlies with 12.
