Alaska State Troopers say an officer was injured Wednesday night in a two-vehicle crash on the Kenai Peninsula.

KSRM-AM reports Trooper Thad Hamilton at 11:30 p.m. was responding to a domestic violence call in Nikiski when his patrol car collided with a truck.

Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters says another officer responding to the same domestic violence call came onto the wreck shortly after it occurred.

The patrol car was demolished. Hamilton is being treated for injuries at Central Peninsula Hospital.

Troopers have not released the name of the other driver, who also was injured.
