Toil and trouble

Anchorage Opera's powerful production of "Macbeth" wraps up this weekend with performances at 8 tonight and 4 p.m. Sunday in the Discovery Theatre. The Celtic-themed approach to Verdi's blood-curdling opera features major talents of Todd Thomas in the title role and Brenda Harris as Lady Macbeth. An online review is posted at adn.com/artsnob. Twelve angry Wasillans

Henry Fonda, Jack Lemmon and George C. Scott have starred in film versions of "Twelve Angry Jurors." Their famous depictions of pique have nothing on the seriously disgruntled cast now presenting the play for Valley Performing Arts at the Machetanz Theatre. Fresh and friendly

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tracy Letts's "Superior Donuts" dunks the audience into a funny and moving play about the healing power of friendship.
