Parker, Harmanen pace UAA ski team in Montana

Alex Parker grabbed fourth place in the women's giant slalom and Niko Harmanen took fifth in the men's giant slalom to lead the UAA ski team Friday at the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association's Western Regional Championships in Bozeman, Mont.

In the women's race, Vanessa Berther placed 14th and Anais Urbain 17th to give the Seawolves three finishers in the top 20. In the men's race, Andreas Adde finished eighth and Christopher Kollenborg 17th.

In nordic racing, Laura Rombach's 13th-place finish in the women's 5-kilometer freestyle was UAA's top result. Karina Smith was 24th and Maya Radonich 27th.

In the men's 10-K, Nevio Zeni finished 17th, Galen Johnston 22nd and Lasse Molgaard-Nielsen 24th.

The Seawolves were without three of their top nordic skiers -- Jaime Bronga, Steffi Hiemer and Lukas Ebner.
