Planet Fitness gym in the Northway Mall was closed on Wednesday morning after a roof beam shifted downward and caused a sprinkler pipe to break. Mao Tosi, with the mall's management, said the problem may have been caused by heavy snow on the roof.

Workers were clearing the roof on Wednesday afternoon and Tosi said people were being kept out of the gym until the situation could be assessed for safety. No other businesses were affected.
