JUNEAU -- A South Korean national who was living illegally in Juneau is going to prison.
The Juneau Empire says 44-year-old Sung Hun Bag pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree forgery for possessing a fake Social Security card and was sentenced to three months in prison. After that, he will be deported.
An investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement found that Bag illegally entered the United States in Los Angeles via Mexico with a forged passport in 2000.
The fake Social Security card was uncovered during a search of Kenny's Wok and Teriyaki downtown restaurant because of suspected drug activity. Officials say there is no evidence that Bag was involved.
