EEK -- Alaska State Troopers say a 26-year-old Eek woman suffered life-threatening injuries last week in a snowmobile crash.

Troopers say a snowmobile operated by 27-year-old Ryan Green of Napakiak hit an object on the Eek River, and he and 26-year-old Grace Cleveland were thrown from the machine. Neither was wearing a helmet.

Cleveland was medically evacuated to Anchorage. Green suffered less severe injuries.

Troopers say Green was arrested for a felony probation violation and jailed at Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel.

Eek is a village of 218 about 35 miles south of Bethel and 420 miles west of Anchorage.
