A video posted on YouTube of a woman petting a moose in Anchorage has prompted a warning from Alaska wildlife officials.
KTUU-TV reports that Department of Fish and Game biologists are telling people not to pet moose because it is dangerous. The large animals do not like to be petted and when agitated can kick in all directions.
The video shows an unidentified woman approaching a moose that is lying in the snow and petting it on the nose. The moose gets up and the woman backs away. She stops and stares at the moose before walking away.
