UAA junior Andreas Adde finished sixth in the slalom Thursday at the 2012 U.S. Alpine Championships in Winter Park, Colo., and Kieffer Christianson of Anchorage took 15th place.

Adde, 23, clocked a two-run time of 1 minute, 33.82 seconds, about a second and a half behind winner Tommy Ford (1:32.20), who edged Leif Kristian Haugen of Norway by .01 seconds.

Adde, of Osteras, Norway, is a four-time All-American for the Seawolves and won the 2010 NCAA slalom title as a freshman.

Christianson, 19, is coming off a ninth-place finish in the giant slalom at the World Junior Championship in Italy earlier this month.

Thursday, Christianson tied for eighth in the second run for a two-run time of 1:35.30.

UAA skiers Christopher Kollenberg and Niko Harmanen also competed Thursday, but neither finished the first run.

The championships continue Friday with the super-G for both genders. The women's giant slalom is Saturday and the men's giant slalom is Sunday.
