The road into Denali National Park and Preserve is opening to Mile 15.

National Park Service officials say the road will open at noon Friday as far as the Savage River, weather permitting.

Officials say park visitors should expect to encounter ice and snow on shaded sections of the road until overnight temperatures are no longer below freezing.

The road earlier was opened to Mile 13.
