Kikkan Randall added another crown to her championship nordic ski season Friday.
The three-time Olympian from Anchorage won the 30-kilometer, national-championship freestyle race in Craftsbury, Vt., to seize the 17th national championship of her career.
Randall, 29, who this month won the World Cup women's sprint title and finished fifth in the World Cup overall standings, clocked 1 hour, 19 minutes, 30 seconds, to edge fellow U.S. Ski Team member Jessie Diggins by 1.1 seconds.
Olympian Holly Brooks of Anchorage finished fourth, and Chelsea Holmes of Girdwood finished fifth.
Sadie Bjornsen, who like Randall and Brooks trains with theAlaska Pacific University Nordic Ski Center, finished ninth.
