Man involved in fatal accident indicted for murder

Anchorage Daily NewsMarch 30, 2012

An Anchorage man whose girlfriend died in a December wreck while he was allegedly driving drunk now faces a murder charge after a grand jury indicted him Thursday, police said.

Police said Joshua Stein, 27, was driving his girlfriend's 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on Gambell Street when the Jeep hit a snow berm near East 20th Avenue. It flipped end over end and landed upside down, police said. The girlfriend, Jessica Anne Flores, 23, was trapped inside and died, police said.

A grand jury handed up an indictment for Stein on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and drunken driving. Stein turned himself in for arrest Friday afternoon. His bail is set at $10,000.
