A body was found in a cabin that burned early Sunday near Deshka Landing, Alaska State Troopers said.
Troopers got a call around 8:30 a.m. about a possible fatal cabin fire on Deshka Loop. Firefighters from West Lakes Fire Department as well as the Houston and Willow fire departments responded.
The fire destroyed the estimated 800-square-foot wooden cabin. The body was recovered around 10 a.m. A deputy fire marshal is investigating.
The cause of the fire hasn't yet been determined. The name of the person who died will be released after the state Medical Examiner's Office confirms the identity.
