FAIRBANKS -- More than 500 Fort Wainwright soldiers have returned to Fairbanks from Afghanistan.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says the homecoming was Monday.
More than 4,000 members of the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team left Fairbanks last year for a yearlong deployment. Flights carrying the remainder of the soldiers are expected in Fairbanks in coming weeks.
