The Alaska Earthquake Information Center says a moderate earthquake was recorded 36 miles southeast of Adak in the Aleutian Islands.
The quake was recorded with a preliminary magnitude of 5.4 and was 21 miles below the surface.
The information center says the quake was felt in Adak, a community of 331 residents about 1,300 miles southwest of Anchorage.
The center says it received no reports of the earthquake causing damage.
