A left-footed score from Hayden Western in the first half was all the South boys soccer team needed for a 1-0 nonconference home win over West Valley on Thursday.

Western's score came from just outside the penalty box, sailing into the upper, right corner of the goal.

Wasilla 0, Homer 0

The Wasilla boys soccer team played Homer to a 0-0 draw Thursday at Wasilla High.

East 3, Chugiak 2

East's Branden Kressly scored twice Wednesday, leading the Thunderbirds to a 3-2 CIC boys soccer victory over host Chugiak.

Chugiak took an early 1-0 lead, but East rallied for three goals in the span of about 10 minutes to go up 3-1. Paul Matyas provided East's third goal.
