Wood, Lash lead Grace girls over Wasilla

Bolstered by two goals apiece from Katrina Wood and Madison Lash, the Grace Christian girls soccer team came from behind to defeat Wasilla 4-2 at Anchorage Football Stadium on Friday.

Wasilla took a 2-1 lead at halftime, getting goals from Alexis Starr and Nikki Vanni, but Wood struck for her second goal in the 53rd minute to even the score at 2-2.

Lash scored both her second-half goals on set pieces, with her last coming in the match's final minute.

West Valley 1, E. River 1

West Valley and host Eagle River played to a 1-1 draw Friday in a girls nonconference soccer match.

Jill Phillips deposited the West Valley goal on an 18-yard shot in the second half.

Colony 2, Homer 0

Goals from Katya Jenkins and Ali Baker boosted the Colony girls soccer team to a 2-0 win over visiting Homer on Friday.

Goalie Jaeden Chew earned a shutout to help Colony improve to 1-1-2. Homer fell to 0-2.
