Woman killed in morning crash near JBER's Muldoon gate

Published: April 30, 2012

A 44-year-old woman died early Monday when her 2007 Hummer SUV crashed near the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson gate in Muldoon, police say.

Driver Brenda Kae Davis was found severely injured at the scene after the big SUV struck a gate emplacement, according to Lt. David Parker, a police spokesman. Medics pronounced Davis dead at a local hospital.

Investigators found no skid marks at the crash site, indicating the Hummer did not brake or attempt to slow down before the collision, Parker said. Police found no initial evidence that alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues. An autopsy is planned with the state medical examiner's office to help determine the cause of the collision.
