Troopers investigate possible stolen-auto 'chop shop'

Published: May 7, 2012

Alaska State Troopers are investigating a home in Wasilla suspected of being a chop shop that takes apart stolen vehicles to sell for parts.

Troopers spokeswoman Beth Ipsen tells KTUU-TV that officers investigated the home Saturday. She says troopers found a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck that had been reported stolen.

The truck was in pieces. Ipsen says it's a total loss.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
