Dimond 2, East 0 in girls soccer

Samantha Castle and Bobbye Pendleton provided goals Thursday, helping Dimond defend its home turf in a 2-0 Cook Inlet Conference girls soccer victory over East. Dimond was also in top form Wednesday, taking down host Eagle River 4-1 in a CIC match.

Dimond's Katelyn Sweeney was in goal for both wins, helping the Lynx improve to 12-1-1.

Wednesday's win included goals from Aaliyah and Ariela Lewis, Lizzy Gogolowski and Castle. Jackie Klecka scored Eagle River's only goal.

Chugiak 3, West 1

Fueled by goals from Sue Fleurant, Jessi Beverlin and Tori Fishburn, the Chugiak girls soccer team defeated West 3-1 in a CIC match at South High on Wednesday.
