South sweeps Service in softball

South edged Service in two softball games Thursday at Albrecht Fields, taking the first 12-11 and the second 6-5. “It was pretty back and forth all night,” said South coach Andy Fowkes, “They were two really good games.” Baily Mohl and Kayla Schoffel were South’s hot hitters in the first game, both notching two hits and scoring twice. Service’s Peggy Sewell was 2 for 4 with a run. South’s Rachel Eytalis and Emily Eckroth highlighted the second game, Eytalis smacking two doubles and scoring a run and Eckroth going 2 for 2 with a double and a run. Shannon Wilson led Service with a 2-for-2 effort that included a double and a run.
