Fairbanks thieves strip wiring from charity warehouse

Published: May 11, 2012

FAIRBANKS -- All the wiring in the Habitat for Humanity warehouse in Fairbanks has been stripped out by thieves.

Executive director Jay Pruce tells the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that it appears someone backed a truck up to the loading dock "and went to town for a while."

He estimated the scrap value of the wiring from the 10,000-square-foot building at up to $800, but it will probably cost several times that to replace.

Thieves also broke into a storage building and took ladders and power tools.
