South 3, East 0 in girls soccer

Katelynn Zanders struck twice and Morgan Hooe tacked on another goal Saturday in host South's 3-0 Cook Inlet Conference win over East.

All three goals came in the second half, with Zanders scoring in the 42nd and 62nd minute. Hooe scored off a corner kick from Erin Stuart (two assists) in the 71st minute, and goalie Sarah Johnson recorded her eighth shutout.

West 4, Eagle River 0

Alexandra Rojas Ayala scored two goals and Kayle Blackmore registered a goal and an assist in West's 4-0 CIC victory over Eagle River on Saturday.

Maya McPherson scored West's other goal and goalkeeper Kelly French had the shutout in goal.

Nikiski 1, Homer 0

Bailey Buchholz scored an early goal for Nikiski and the Bulldogs held on for a 1-0 win over visiting Homer in a girls soccer match Saturday.

Nikiski finished the regular season at 5-6-2, and Homer sits at 2-7-1.
