SITKA -- The U.S. Coast Guard's Air Station Sitka is getting a new leader.
A change of command ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, when Cmdr. Ward Sandlin will relieve Cmdr. Doug Cameron.
According to information provided by the Coast Guard, Sandlin has been serving as operations officer at Air Station Clearwater, Fla.
After graduating from Coast Guard Officer Candidate School in 1992, Sandlin served at agency headquarters before being selected for flight training. He then served operational tours at Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C., and Air Station Kodiak, before becoming an instructor pilot in Alabama. He returned to agency headquarters before transferring to Clearwater.
Cameron, who has led Air Station Sitka since June 2010, is set to become chief of incident management for the 5th Coast Guard District in Portsmouth, Va.
