Six Alaska chefs competed in the inaugural Great Alaska Seafood Cook Off hosted by the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute in the Bill Sheffield Railroad Depot at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport on Monday, May 14, 2012. The competitors cooked and plated a dish featuring wild Alaska seafood. Chef Christopher Vane of Crush Wine Bistro in Anchorage was crowned king of Alaska seafood and will go on to compete in the Great American Seafood Cook Off later in the year.
