Alaska National Guard officials say a day promoting safe summer recreation practices is planned for military members and their families.

The Guard is teaming with U.S. Army Alaska and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson for the event, scheduled to take place on base from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Hangar 4 on Bryant Army Airfield.

The Guard is hosting the event, which will include displays and information on all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles, among other recreational activities.
