Fuller keys Eagle River baseball win

Eagle River's David Fuller went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs Thursday, leading the Wolves to a 4-3 win over East in Cook Inlet Conference tournament baseball game at Mulcahy Stadium.

Eighth-seeded East scored the game's first run in the top of second inning, but fifth-seeded Eagle River answered with a four-run rally that was capped by an RBI base hit from Fuller in the bottom of the inning.

East put up two runs in the sixth, but couldn't complete the comeback. Jared Laws and Nathan White each belted doubles for the T-birds.

Eagle River's Gregory Long pitched four innings for the win, and Chris Parker pitched the seventh and final inning for a save.

West 4, Bartlett 3

Conner Cleary drove in West's winning run in extra innings Thursday at Oberg Field, sealing a 4-3 win in nine innings over Bartlett in the CIC baseball tournament.

West trailed 3-2 going into the bottom of the seventh and final regulation inning, but Cleary singled, stole second and third, and then came home on a throwing error to tie it 3-3.

Andrew McAlister (2 for 5) scored three runs for the Eagles, including the winning run on a base hit by Cleary.

John Gutsch pitched five scoreless innings for West and Dalton Gantner-Chapman pitched the last four to earn the win.

Bartlett's Andrew Dickey allowed four hits in eight innings of work and Wynter Gross drilled a two-run double to put the Golden Bears up 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning.
