Sorry, Vic Van Ballenberghe of Anchorage ("Sorry, Parnell, but a program to rear moose calves is a bad idea," May 17) and the state of Alaska, we should not be giving any money to the Alaska Moose Federation.
All we have to do to solve the moose/vehicle problem is enforce a lower winter speed limit. This will result in fewer accidents with moose on our highways. Fewer accidents means lower insurance rates, not to mention the savings from increased fuel economy by driving slower. The only expense would be to replace speed limit signs.
Seems simple to me. Wake up, Alaska.
