Hand recount results in no changes to election results

Anchorage Daily News / adn.comMay 21, 2012

A hand recount of ballots cast at 15 precincts in the sloppy April 3 city election is complete, resulting in no change to the outcome of the election, the city clerk says.

Ballot shortages plagued the election and voters asked for the hand-count in a petition. The Assembly is expected to review the recount numbers at the Tuesday night regular Assembly meeting. If they are satisfied with the findings, they could certify the recount. Members of the city Election Recount Board will be on hand to answer questions about Election Day confusion revealed in a Election Commission report and during the recount process.
