Candidate withdraws from Kenai Peninsula House race

Published: June 5, 2012

KENAI -- A candidate for the state House for the Kenai and Soldotna areas has withdrawn his candidacy.

The Peninsula Clarion reports Kelly J. Wolf announced his withdrawal Monday in statement.

He said his possible election would cause conflict with some organizations he's involved with. Wolf said his involvement with the Youth Restoration Corps might be a potential conflict, and he'd rather support the organization.

Wolf served in the House in 2003-04.

His withdrawal leaves incumbent Rep. Kurt Olson and Assembly President Gary Knopp in the District 29 race. All three are Republicans.
