KENAI -- Soldotna is looking for a new police chief after the mayor said John Lucking is no longer in the position.
Lucking departed Monday. The Peninsula Clarion reports Mayor Peter Micciche offered no additional details, calling it a personnel issue.
Lucking has been chief since 2003. Sgt. Robb Quelland will step in as acting chief. The city plans to advertise for the position.
