FAIRBANKS -- Officials have chosen the theme for this year's Alaska Federation of Natives convention.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports the theme is "Success Beyond Barriers."

The state's largest gathering of Natives is planned for Oct. 18-20 at the Dena'ina Convention Center in downtown Anchorage.

Carol Wren, Cook Inlet Tribal Council's director of employment and training services, will be this year's keynote speaker.
