Juneau police say man arrested in motel stabbing

JUNEAU -- Juneau police say a 32-year-old man has been arrested after people were stabbed at a party at a Mendenhall Valley motel.

KINY says Charles Alan Abbott is in custody, charged with one count of second degree assault and two counts of third degree assault.

Police were called to the Super 8 Motel shortly after 1:30 am. Friday.

Police say about 10 people were at the party when a fight broke out between Abbott and a 25-year-old man.

According to police, witnesses said Abbott stabbed the man with a folding knife. Police say the man sustained two stab wounds in his torso.

Police say another man and a woman sustained cuts during the fight as well.

The three injured people were treated at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
