Cash America computers will go to Alaska's foster children

Published: June 15, 2012

A program matching foster youth in Alaska with laptop computers got a big boost this week.

Cash America donated 68 computers to the program, which is an ongoing effort by Rep. Les Gara, an Anchorage Democrat, and the nonprofit Facing Foster Care in Alaska

So far during the two-year drive, nearly 200 computers have been donated to the program. Gara's office says the Carr Family Foundation also has made two large cash donations, and that allowed the purchase of refurbished laptops.
