Parnell appoints Anchorage attorney to Bethel judgeship

An Anchorage attorney has been appointed to the Bethel Superior Court.

Gov. Sean Parnell announced his appointment of Chuck Ray on Wednesday. Ray will fill the vacancy left by the death of Marvin Hamilton III last year. According to biographical information released by Parnell's office, Ray has practiced law in Alaska for nearly 30 years. His practice has focused on civil litigation in torts and insurance law with an emphasis on maritime issues. Ray earned a law degree from the University of Oregon Law School after working for nearly a decade as a commercial fisherman in Alaska.
